Before & After-School Programs

  • The MDS Before & After School Care Program is designed to help parents with their childcare needs. The following are some rules we have set in place to make everyone's use of the program safe and fun.

  • Children may be dropped off no earlier than 7:15 am for the Before School Care Program. Children must be picked up no later than 6 pm from the After School Care Program. All students arriving for school prior to 8:10 am will be placed in Before School Care, and parents will be charged.

  • The cost is $5.00 per hour.

  • After School Care ends at 6 pm sharp. It is imperative that you make arrangements for the pick-up of your child by no later than 6 p.m. Mizzentop's After School Care late fee is $1.00 per minute, per child.

  • Children must be pre-registered before they can attend the Before & After School Care Program.

  • Attendance: A sign in sheet will be provided for parents to record his/her child's attendance. Parents dropping children off before 8:10 am should bring their child to the Library and sign them in. Parents picking up children after 3:45 pm should come to the Student Center and sign their children out.

  • Behavior: We expect all students who attend the Before & After School Care Programs to behave in accordance with all school rules. If a student has been misbehaving, the Coordinator will be notified, and she/he will contact the parents to arrange a meeting to discuss the situation and create a Behavior Plan.

  • Payment: An invoice will be sent out periodically for payment for attending the Before and/or After School Care Programs.

  • Snack: A daily snack is provided for all students attending the After School Care Program. If a child has any allergies, please make sure you provide your child with an appropriate snack.

  • Clothing: During the winter months, students must have the appropriate clothing to go outside to play after school.

  • If the need arises to contact the After School Coordinator after 4 pm due to an emergency, please call the school (845-855-7338) and dial extension 230).

  • Parents needing to contact the Before School Coordinator can do so by dialing the school main phone number at 8 am, where your call will then be directed.

  • The Front Entry Lobby door will be locked at 4 pm. Please ring the intercom located to the right of the front entrance. The After School Coordinator will come to greet you.

Extended Care Program

Mizzentop is excited to be able to offer an Extended Care Program to suppliment our already popular Before and After School Program. Designed to help working parents, the school will now offer Child Care on selected days that the school is closed.
