Mizzentop Admissions
Mizzentop Day School welcomes inquiries from all families interested in our school. We invite parents to call or email us to receive information and to schedule an appointment to tour our school. We offer multiple Open House opportunities for prospective students and their families, typically beginning in January and continuing into the spring.
Application Process
- Parent Visit
After you have reviewed the application packet which is available by clicking here, call the Admissions Office to set up an appointment for a parent visit. - Application Form and Fee
- Complete the application form and return it with a $45.00 application fee. This non-refundable fee covers the processing of the application, your child's visit and the admissions evaluation process.
- Applications for Kindergarten and above must include a “Teacher Recommendation” form from their current teacher. For Grades K-5 one recommendation is required and for Grades 6-8, two recommendations (English and Mathematics) must be completed. Parents of Senior Pre-Kindergarten with prior Pre-School or day care experience will be asked to include one recommendation from their current teacher/provider to assist with proper placement.
- Submit the “Request for Release of Student Information” form to your child's present school. It is the parents’ responsibility to keep in touch with your child’s current school to be sure the information is sent to MDS.
- Student Visit
Upon receipt of the completed application form, the teacher’s recommendation, and school records, the Director of Admissions will schedule a visit for your child. The Student Visit is required, and completes the application process. -
Notification of Admission Decision
Applications are reviewed by the Admission’s Committee and parents are notified of decisions by mail.
