Mizzentop Welcomes New Admissions Director
June
Mizzentop Day School is happy to announce that Eliza Goff, a long-time member of the Mizzentop Day School faculty, will be taking over the position soon to be vacated by Carney O’Brien. Her title will be “Admission Director and Director of Student Services” to accurately reflect the duties of the position. Mrs. Goff’s primary responsibilities will include admissions, secondary school placement, coordinating special needs efforts, and handling student issues and concerns.
With a BA degree in American Studies and a BS degree in Elementary Education, both from Western Connecticut State University, Mrs. Goff was one of Mizzentop Day School’s founding faculty members. Her teaching responsibilities have included Kindergarten, First Grade and Seventh Grade, at which time she assisted Ms. O’Brien with secondary school placement. Mrs. Goff was always very active with a variety of student activities, including monitoring Student Government for four years. She also regularly led faculty performances with her beautiful singing voice.
Before coming to MDS in 1998, Mrs. Goff served as a tutor at the former Pawling Learning Center and worked previously for ARC with adult clients. She was honored as an adult member of the Connecticut State University Board of Trustees and was named among Who’s Who in College and University Students.
Mrs. Goff will begin her duties on July 27. We are excited to have her back at Mizzentop and serving in this capacity.

MDS Volunteer Service Award Presented to Gayle Zelazny - On September 19, 2009 Mizzentop held a Founder's Day BBQ to welcome back students and introduce new families to the entire school community. The Parents' Association provided games and activities for students. Lunch was served in the afternoon. The highlight of the afternoon was the honoring of one of our most involved volunteers, Gayle Zelazny. Gayle's community volunteerism includes Pawling Little League, the Pawling Beekman Roller Hockey League, Pawling Youth Hockey Program, Pawling Youth Soccer Program, the Pawlign Free Library, the Ryan McElroy Children's Cancer Foundation, and many other organizations and committees. Here at MDS, as a parent of a past graduate, Gayle has been an invaluable resource over the years, donating her time and expertise to the Institutional Advancement Committee and as a driving force behind our annual gala, which has grown in both attendance and funds raised since her involvement. We extend a heartfelt thanks to Gayle, once again, for her giving spirit and dedication to our progam.
