Mizzentop's Facilities

Buildings, Technology, and People

Mizzentop Day School is located in the village of Pawling, Dutchess County, NY, approximately 70 miles north of New York City and 30 miles east of Poughkeepsie close to the New York/Connecticut border.

Our facilities include a state-of-the-art computer lab, media center and auditorium, art studio, science lab with attached greenhouse, gymnasium with rock climbing wall, and the Robert J. Pellechio Student Center.

Students are provided hot lunch in a comfortable dining room with family-style eating.

The school retains a licensed registered nurse on premises, who is CPR and First Aid certified, as are many staff members. The school has an AED debribrillator on site, with all staff trained in its use. MDS also participates in the the local Family Watchdog Program.

Each August, faculty and staff participate in meetings and in-services focusing on school safety and staff development.

We have an extensive outdoor fenced playground for younger students. All teachers and assistants participated in a playground safety class provided by Utica Loss Control.

An expanded athletic field was completed during the summer of 2007.

A 10,000 square-foot second-floor expansion is planned for the future, and will include classrooms and offices.
